Tony Gollan has officially completed the feature treble at Ipswich after clocking up the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic on Saturday.

Solar Star sealed the deal for the Gollan stable ridden superbly by jockey Robbie Fradd.

Making for the front early on jumping from the 1350m mark, Fradd kicked further in front at the turn to hold off Jami Lady for Boris Thornton and trainer Steven O’Dea on the line.

Multaja came in third for James Cummings ridden by Michael Cahill.

Kelly Purdy’s Bandipur claimed the Listed Eye Liner Stakes 1200m despite falling back to last on jumping from barrier 10 in the 14-horse field.

Jockey Jag Guthmann-Chester worked hard to get the five-year-old to find an inside lane and hit the front with half a length spare on the line.

Boomsara came in second for the Chris Munce stable with Brad Stewart in the saddle. Monsieur Gustave was third for jockey Dale Smith and Darryl Hansen.

The gutsy win did cost Guthmann-Chester an 8-day suspension after Tegan Harrison aboard Winter Passage was tightened for room in the final 100m stretch home.
